1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the NZLeads / FreshLeads website and related services (the “Service”). The Service is operated in connection with business activities directed at New Zealand customers.

2. Information we collect

2.1 You provide

Account details (such as name, email, phone, business name, category), billing-related correspondence, and content you upload (for example letter templates or campaign copy).

2.2 Automatically

Technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, general location derived from IP, and usage events needed to operate and secure the Service.

2.3 Third-party business information

The Service may display information about registered NZ businesses sourced from public registers (including NZBN data obtained through official channels). That information relates to those businesses and is used to power search, browse, and claim features.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including authentication and customer support);
  • process payments and manage subscriptions and credits;
  • send service-related messages (for example receipts, security notices, and policy updates);
  • detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or technical issues;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. Marketing emails, if any, will be sent in line with applicable consent rules.

4. Sharing & disclosure

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who assist us (for example hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics), subject to confidentiality and processing terms;
  • Stripefor payment processing — governed by Stripe's privacy policy and your checkout interactions;
  • Supabase or similar infrastructure providers used to host authentication and application data;
  • Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.

5. International transfers

Some providers may process data in countries other than New Zealand. Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure safeguards comparable to New Zealand privacy principles, as required by the Privacy Act 2020 (subject to applicable exceptions).

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure; you should use a strong password and protect your account credentials.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods may depend on the type of data and whether you maintain an active account.

8. Your rights (NZ)

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you may have the right to access and correct your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function (such as session and security cookies) and, where applicable, to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

The Service is not directed at children and is intended for business users.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, except where applicable law requires additional steps.
